Winner Educare Center
Winner Educare Center
Home Sponsorship
Mandalay, Myanmar (Burma)
The home began when a Buddhist family asked for their children to be cared for, fearing they would be taken by militia. From there, the home grew as it became an alternative for those who did not want to become Buddhist monks. They now hear about the love of Jesus and give their lives to Him.
Support: Winner Educare Center is not fully supported. Monthly support is needed.
Many of you are aware that one of the older boys, Maung Oo, died from a sudden illness during the fall. Thank you to all of you who prayed for his family, as well as those who gave generously to cover the costs of his funeral and travel expenses for his parents. You blessed his family and those at the home who gathered to mourn his death.
Currently, sixteen children live at Winner Educare; all are homeschooled except those in grade 10. Recently, the kids took an excursion to the zoo, which they enjoyed very much. Their caregivers try to take them on outings or picnics at least once a month so that they can have time outside the home. The children are very excited about Christmas, though it is uncertain whether the government will allow them to celebrate the holiday. Many in Burma remain under restricted conditions due to ongoing concerns about COVID and the political situation.
Join us in praying for the following:
The safety of all the children and workers at Winner Educare. This is a concern as there are ongoing tensions between all the local armed forces.
God’s provision financially. Basic commodities have tripled in price since last year because of global inflation and political unrest in Burma.
Monthly Home Sponsors
Monthly sponsors commit to donating $35/month* to help provide basic necessities such as housing, food and education for all of the children living there. This model differs from child sponsorship in order to ensure that every child in the home receives the support they need. It also helps with promoting a sense of family in the home, as some of the children have no other family and see the kids they live with just like brothers and sisters.
*This is a suggested amount; for Home sponsorships you can customize the amount on the donation form if $35 is not the right amount for your situation. Any amount is a blessing!
Through Vision Beyond Borders, you can partner directly with Gospel-centered homes that we help support. Though VBB does not directly oversee these homes, we partner with ministries that are doing this work in their own countries. With this sponsorship, you are not only able to help with the daily needs of the homes, you are ensuring that more children in desperate situations will have a place to call home.
