This home is located on the border of Thailand/Burma.

This home is for Karenni orphans from Burma who have crossed the border into Thailand. Some of the children’s parents were killed by Burmese soldiers, and the fathers of others were taken by the army and never returned.

Home Update

The home cares for the needs of fifty-one children living in dorms and 11 kids who live on the property with their families. It is currently “summer break” in Thailand, as these are the hottest months. The break lasts from March 15
through May 8 for the older kids and through the end of May for the younger children. All of the students did well this past school year, with seven of them graduating. Some of the older children have found work to earn personal pocket money; the girls are weaving Karen clothing, and the boys have found jobs in nearby villages. Eighteen new children have arrived from Burma since
March, and they are studying the Thai language over the break.

All the children enjoy playing in the river to stay cool during these hot months.

Monthly Home Sponsors

Monthly sponsors commit to donating $35/month* to help provide basic necessities such as housing, food and education for all of the children living there. This model differs from child sponsorship in order to ensure that every child in the home receives the support they need. It also helps with promoting a sense of family in the home, as some of the children have no other family and see the kids they live with just like brothers and sisters.
