This home is located in Burma. It's a safe refuge and home for Karenni children that were forced to flee their homes due to attacks on their villages.

Home Update

Greetings from Vision Beyond Borders. I’d like to share a brief update with you on the ministry of Shekina Hap’ an. Those of you who support the work of this home know that it was established as a safe haven for refugee children in Burma. The condition remains unstable in Burma, and there is ongoing fighting. This affects the work of all the homes in this country. Most of the children of this home have been relocated as this village is no longer safe. Some attend a jungle school for IDPs (internationally displaced people); others have moved across the border into Thailand and are at the Shekina KT home. Our contacts, who live across the border in Thailand, continue to care for the needs of the children who have relocated there; they can also continue supporting the Burma children through the IDP school there.

Monthly Home Sponsors

Monthly sponsors commit to donating $35/month* to help provide basic necessities such as housing, food and education for all of the children living there. This model differs from child sponsorship in order to ensure that every child in the home receives the support they need. It also helps with promoting a sense of family in the home, as some of the children have no other family and see the kids they live with just like brothers and sisters.

Though VBB does not directly oversee these homes, we partner with ministries that are doing this work in their own countries.
