Freedom House
Home Sponsorship
Karen Home, Burma
This home is located in Burma. It's a safe refuge and home for Karenni children that were forced to flee their homes due to attacks on their villages.
Support: Freedom House is not fully supported.
The children are needing warm clothing during the next couple of months. A monthly donation goes towards dried food, rice, oil, and hygiene items.
All the children at the home are doing well. They are, however, worried about their relatives in the war-torn Karenni State in Burma. Please pray for God’s protection of their family members and for His comfort and peace in their hearts as they are missing these relatives.
During this time of year, the kids have exams at school. In their free time, they are busy taking care of their garden, as well as their chicken and pigs. Please pray for them to do well in their exams and for the success of their gardening and animal raising as they depend on these to provide food for the home.
Our contacts, who oversee the work of this home, hope to give a special gift of warm clothing to the children before the end of November for Christmas. The celebration of Christmas starts on December 1st. Please consider giving a one-time donation to help them supply this gift. For those who give regular monthly donations to this home, your regular gifts help the caregivers to buy dried food, rice, oil, and hygiene items.
The children’s greatest desire for the future is for peace in the Karenni State. This is the prayer request they personally send to you.
Please share this letter with your church, family, and friends. If any desire to become supporters of this work, they can do so here. They can designate their gift by putting For Freedom House in the comment box.
Monthly Home Sponsors
Monthly sponsors commit to donating $35/month* to help provide basic necessities such as housing, food and education for all of the children living there. This model differs from child sponsorship in order to ensure that every child in the home receives the support they need. It also helps with promoting a sense of family in the home, as some of the children have no other family and see the kids they live with just like brothers and sisters.
*This is a suggested amount; for Home sponsorships you can customize the amount on the donation form if $35 is not the right amount for your situation. Any amount is a blessing!
Through Vision Beyond Borders, you can partner directly with Gospel-centered homes that we help support. Though VBB does not directly oversee these homes, we partner with ministries that are doing this work in their own countries. With this sponsorship, you are not only able to help with the daily needs of the homes, you are ensuring that more children in desperate situations will have a place to call home.
