Asha Hetauda
Asha Hetauda
Home Sponsorship
Hetauda, Nepal
This home was started to help children whose parents had been incarcerated. With their parent(s) in prison, the children are often abandoned by their villages. Some kids were found living outside the prison, left with nowhere else to go. At this home, they are cared for and taught about the forgiveness Christ has offered us and how God can help them to show forgiveness even toward their parents.
Support: Asha Hetauda is not fully supported. Monthly support is needed.
Construction projects on a new kitchen and a playground have been ongoing at Asha Hetauda since summer. Due to financial concerns, these projects were paused during the fall. The staff at Asha Hetauda asks that you pray for these projects to be completed soon.
There are currently 17 children living at Asha Hetauda. They have enjoyed many activities over the past few months, including Christmas festivities, being social and meeting new people, music, dancing, and singing. They also like collecting and giving away colored papers made from the Daphne plant or the Lokta bush, which are native to Nepal. At school, they enjoy outdoor activities and are all working hard to make good grades.
They are active in their local church, where they love hearing stories about Jesus and serving others. Their small groups share the love of Christ in their community by helping people clean out their gardens and with other needs that arise.
Please pray…
…that the children have continued good health, that they do well in school, and for their safety.
…for the children’s family members who are living in different parts of Nepal and India.
…for the Asha Hetauda staff who daily serve the children. …for new people to sponsor this home through their donations and prayers. …for us as we travel to visit Asha Hetauda and other homes in SE Asia.
Monthly Home Sponsors
Monthly sponsors commit to donating $35/month* to help provide basic necessities such as housing, food and education for all of the children living there. This model differs from child sponsorship in order to ensure that every child in the home receives the support they need. It also helps with promoting a sense of family in the home, as some of the children have no other family and see the kids they live with just like brothers and sisters.
*This is a suggested amount; for Home sponsorships you can customize the amount on the donation form if $35 is not the right amount for your situation. Any amount is a blessing!
Through Vision Beyond Borders, you can partner directly with Gospel-centered homes that we help support. Though VBB does not directly oversee these homes, we partner with ministries that are doing this work in their own countries. With this sponsorship, you are not only able to help with the daily needs of the homes, you are ensuring that more children in desperate situations will have a place to call home.
