Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is
old he
will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
The colors of the beads represent the Gospel story. They are given to children as a reminder of the Gospel story and to encourage them to share the story with others.
Gold represents the streets of Gold in heaven.
Black represents our sin, they are reminded that all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.
Red represents the blood of Jesus Christ, the
perfect sacrifice. They are told without the shedding of
blood there is no remission for sin.
White represents the sinless, unblemished
sacrifice, Jesus, who took our penalty upon himself, and because of
His blood we are also seen as sinless when we accept Jesus as our
own Lord. By accepting His sacrifice, God sees us through the
righteousness of Christ and our sins are forgiven.
Blue represent being baptized. God's Word
tells us this is an outward act of an inward decision, and once we
decide to make Jesus our Lord, we are to follow by obediently being
baptized.
Green represents growing in the Lord. Once
we accept Jesus as our savior we need to learn more about
Him. We develop a closer relationship to Him through his Word
and through prayer.
